According to the World Health Organization, more than 1,600,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
In Europe, more than 450,000 women develop breast cancer. Around 140,000 die from the disease.
In Greece, it is still the most common type of cancer affecting women.
However, diagnostic and treatment methods have evolved to the point where it is possible to diagnose the disease at an early stage, when it can be successfully treated.
